The Dawson Eagles traveled to Freedom Field on Friday, October 2, to take on the Shadow Creek Sharks in a critical district matchup.
Dawson entered the contest with a 2-3 record, while Shadow Creek came in at 3-1 and undefeated in district play.
The Sharks wasted little time taking control of the game, scoring two quick touchdowns in the opening minutes. Shadow Creek continued to dictate the pace throughout the night, pulling away for a 44-7 victory over the Eagles.
Despite the loss, Dawson remains in striking position for a playoff spot with four games remaining. The Eagles will return home next Friday, October 9, to host Brazoswood at 7 p.m.
With four games remaining on the schedule, winning three of those four could boost the Eagles into the playoffs. Dawson will look to begin that push next Friday night against Brazoswood.
