Pearland Oilers Defeat Pasadena Mavericks

The undefeated Pearland Oilers continued their dominant start to the season Thursday night, improving to 5-0 with a commanding 49-0 victory over the 2-2 Pasadena Memorial Mavericks at The Rig.

Pearland took control early on the ground, with running backs Royce Swan and Ryan Miller continuing to make their presence felt. The two featured Oiler backs combined for multiple touchdowns while consistently moving the ball and keeping the Mavericks defense on its heels.

Quarterback Kaleb Smith also turned in a strong performance through the air, connecting with multiple receivers for touchdown passes. One of the highlights came in the second quarter when Smith found wide receiver Joaquin Soraiz in the South Endzone for another Oiler score.

While the offense continued to pile up points, Pearland’s defense was equally impressive, completely shutting down Pasadena Memorial and pitching a shutout in the 49-0 district victory.

The Oilers will return to The Rig on October 2nd for a highly anticipated district matchup with the undefeated Manvel Mavericks. With both teams entering the matchup unbeaten, the winner will take control of the top spot in the district.
