Pearland Oilers Win PearBowl Against Dawson Eagles

Pearland, Texas — September 18, 2026 — The Pearland Oilers remained unbeaten Friday night, defeating crosstown rival Pearland Dawson 48-14 in the latest edition of the PearBowl at The Rig.

The state-ranked Oilers entered the rivalry matchup at 3-0, while the Eagles came in at 1-2 after earning their first win of the season the previous week. A near-capacity crowd filled The Rig on a steamy Friday evening in Southeast Texas for one of Pearland’s most anticipated games of the season.

Sophomore quarterback Aiden Raglin made his varsity debut for the Eagles and wasted little time testing the Oilers defense. On the opening possession, Raglin connected on a deep pass to senior standout wide receiver Corey Brown along the away sideline, giving the Eagles an early scoring opportunity.

The Oilers defense quickly answered.

Jayden Larry forced a fumble that he recovered, and turned the turnover into a defensive touchdown, returning the ball 80 yards to open the scoring.

From there, the Oilers took control of the rivalry game and continued to build their lead throughout the night.

Junior running back Royce Swan was a major part of the Oilers’ offensive attack, rushing for 172 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries. Swan’s performance helped the Oilers control the ground game and keep pressure on the Eagles throughout the evening.

The Oilers finished with a 48-14 victory, improving to 4-0 on the season. The Eagles dropped to 1-3 and will look to bounce back as district play continues.

The Oilers will return to The Rig on Thursday evening to face Pasadena Memorial.

The Eagles will continue district play at home against Sam Rayburn.
